C & B Letter – 3.24.23

Hello Everyone!

I’m very excited because in a few months we will get to spend time together at our in-person Connecting and Bonding Conference. It will be an opportunity to recharge our spiritual batteries, enjoy personal fellowship, and share what we have learned during our COVID shut down.

Our theme this year is: Put Your Mask on First. If you have ever flown, you will remember that flight attendants give certain instructions before take-off. One thing they always mention is that if the plane should lose cabin pressure and the oxygen masks appear, be sure to put your mask on first before you try to help others. If you run out of oxygen, you can’t help anyone else.

1 Corinthians 3:16-17 (ESV) says, “Do you not know that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone destroys God’s temple, God will destroy that person; for the temple of God, which you are, is holy.” I want us to leave the conference knowing that it is okay to take care of ourselves first.

One of our returning presenters this year will be Grace Fox. You can find out more about Grace at her website: www.gracefox.com. She is a very encouraging speaker and will bring some of her books with her. Also, we will have Sylvia Frejd back again. She has graciously continued to follow in her mother Kathleen Hart’s footsteps as our mentor, spiritual guide, and cheerleader! We are so thankful for her. We are still working on the speaker list, so please pray for God’s guidance in this area.

Like everything else, the cost of the conference has gone up, so we’ve worked hard at trying to keep the cost down as much as possible. In 2019, a double room was $489 for the weekend; this year it will be $580. This will include your 3-night stay (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), plus all meals. A single room in 2019 was $684 for weekend; this year it will be $858.

To help defer costs, we have decided to do away with the usual $150 registration fee this year. Also, we hope the payment plan will help you budget ahead for a wonderful weekend with your sisters in Christ.

If you will be flying to the conference, the best airport will be the Ontario Airport. Our new location, the Doubletree by Hilton in Pomona, does not have shuttle service, so we will be working on a way to get you to the hotel and back to the airport. To help us out, we will need to know your flight information as soon as possible.

Please pray about the conference. We will be at a new place which will be an adjustment. We will be working on how to set up for Zoom and will keep you informed about that. Plus, we want to be on top of various things that might come up. Remember the old adage: Blessed are the flexible for they shall not get bent out of shape. ☺

If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me at conbond@acninc.net or call me at 626-379-0505.

You are in my thoughts and prayers! Love to you all!
