Dear Sisters in Christ,
It is hard to believe that we are beginning our 18th year of Connecting and Bonding (C&B). As we place this ministry in God’s hands, we know we can look forward to another successful year.
This past year the ladies in Lexington did an outstanding job with their speaking sessions. In fact, my daughter said, “Mom, these ladies were great! You don’t need outside speakers.” What a wonderful compliment!
The Ontario Conference went very well also. Linda Allen who serves as a counselor and ministry leader at Southeast Christian Church in Louisville, KY was one of our guest speakers, along with GCI pastor Michael Horchak from New Orleans, Louisiana. Their sessions were a blessing for all of us.
Our guest presenter this year will be Jeanne Moore, an inspirational speaker/pastor who lives in Greenwood, IN. She is passionate about bringing people closer to God.
Our theme will be: “Why Talk to God?” Jeremiah 33:3 says, “Call to me and I will answer you. I will tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own.” (MSG) When we have questions, God has all the answers!
Some of you may know I have been struggling with my Achilles injury for over a year. I have been in and out of therapy, and thankfully I am doing a lot better. A few weeks ago I asked my therapist if she liked her job. She immediately said she loved her job. However, sometimes she hits a wall because patients don’t get better as fast as she would like. Also there is stress on the job as well as complications that come. When that happens, she looks for a retreat so she can take a break.
Listening to her, I was thinking about how blest we are to have a place to go when or even before we hit that wall!
I’d like to share part of a note I received from one of the ladies who attended our Ontario Conference last September.
“I feel that Connecting & Bonding addresses a most needed aspect of ministry that was never addressed in our church until you pioneered Connecting &Bonding. I feel most blessed as the result of attending the conferences all these years. It’s a safe place to hideaway, if only for a weekend. I feel that it’s a shot in the arm and a time to recharge my batteries. It helps to put a spring in my step and gives me a new lease on life for another year. This year was no exception.”
I encourage you to save the following dates for the next Connecting & Bonding conferences so you can take a break and recharge your spiritual batteries.
